Learning Bee Learning Center is an award-winning after school enrichment program in the East Bay offering programs for young learners from Age 5 (Kindergarten) to Age 12 (6th Grade). After School Program Lead Instructor
Must be able to commit Monday-Friday/ 1:30-6:30 daily during school year plus other mandatory staff meetings and training sessions
Responsibilities:
- Plan and implement supplemental curriculum in academic subjects (Language Art, Math, Science, Social Studies) & life skills development according to our in-house, year-long curricular milestones & guidelines
- Provide and promote a safe and nurturing environment that’s conducive to learning using our teaching methodology
- Manage a class of 20-24 students in specific grade level with support from designated Teacher Assistant in daily operation
- Provide guidance on behavioral, social & academic development of each student
- Observe and document children’s emerging interests and progress
- Provide guidance to students and parents on behavioral, social & academic development of each student
- Communicate with respective parents on concern and observation on student progress along with highlights of classroom activities
- Participate in ongoing staff development and school-wide project initiatives as set forth by Program Director and Program Development Team
- Must have a minimum of a bachelor degree in related subject/ field earned in an accredited 4-year college in United States (current teaching credential highly preferred)
- Min. 2 years of experience in teaching/tutoring in elementary, middle or high school level in U.S.
- Excellent communication, interpersonal, and organizational skills
- Work cooperatively and collaboratively in a team-oriented environment
- Demonstrate behavior that is professional, ethical and responsible
- Proven classroom management and lesson plan development skill
- Fluency in other foreign languages is a plus
- Must be able to commit Monday-Friday, 1:30-6:30 daily during school year plus other mandatory participation in weekly staff meetings, project specific & training sessions
- Clearance of TB test and background check

After School Program Teacher Assistant (TA)
Must be able to commit Monday-Friday/ 3:00-6:30 daily during school year plus other mandatory staff meetings and training sessions
Responsibilities:
- Discuss assigned duties with classroom lead instructor in order to coordinate instructional efforts
- Assist lead instructor in preparation of lesson material, bulletin board displays, equipment and demonstrations
- Present subject matter to students under direction and guidance of lead instructor, using lesson plan as designed
- Tutor and assist students individually or in small groups to help them master assignments and to reinforce learning concepts presented by teacher
- Supervise students in assigned classrooms, hallways and other common areas to ensure safety and proper conduct
- Act as positive role model to students and fellow team members at Learning Bee
- Maintain open and frequent communication with lead instructor on student’s achievement & struggles
- Min. 6 months to 1 year of experience in teaching/tutoring in an elementary, middle or high school level in U.S.
- Excellent communication, interpersonal, and organizational skills
- Strong work ethnics and collaborative team player
- Motivated individual with a passion in working with young children
Individual Subject Instructor
Schedule varies. Weekly hour-long classes between 3:00-7:00pm & occasional weekend classes.
We are looking for individuals with a strong background in one or more of these specific subject areas:
Theatre/Drama, Writing, Public Speaking/Debate, Reading Comprehension, Math, Science, Lego Robotics, Hip Hop Dance, Computer programming, Application Design.
- Engage a class of 8-12 students ranging from grades K-8 in creative learning activities
- Plan and implement curriculum
- Provide assessments and feedback to students and parents
Qualifications:
- Min. 2 years of experience in teaching/tutoring in an elementary, middle or high school level in U.S. in specific subject
- Excellent communication, interpersonal, and organizational skills
Summer Camp Counselor
Summer Camp Counselor
- Temporary/seasonal employment for Summer 2021 from 6/14 – 7/30/2021 (6 weeks of summer camp operation, no camp on week of 6/28 – 7/2/2021)
- Must be able to commit on working for a minimum of 2 weeks (Monday through Friday) during summer camp operation period (Do not have to be consecutive weeks)
- Must be able to attend mandatory training session on Friday, June 11 from 10am to Noon plus a few other brief training briefings for 2-4 hours between June 1 – 4, 2021)
- Official hiring process will start May 18, 2021 via online application
- Hiring priority is given to applicants who can commit 4 or more weeks or returning summer crew from school year operations or prior summer
- All staff & associates are required to have been fully vaccinated before June 1, 2021 and agreed to follow all CDC guidelines and Learning Bee Safety Operation protocol
The ideal candidate should:
- Be current high school, college student or college graduate (Age 15 and up) in U.S.
- Have an up-beat personality and be extremely enthusiastic when it comes to working with elementary school age kids in a hands-on learning environment
- Quick learner to adapt to changing dynamics of campers
- Have prior experience whether be in volunteering or paid position working with children in some formal setting
- Be able to pass a CA state & Federal background check
- Have reliable transportation means to get to work punctually
- Be able to commit to work full time (7:45am to 4:30pm) or part-time (7:45am – 1:00pm or 12:30pm – 6:00pm) consistently for at least 5 weeks (out of the total of 8 week camp) on Monday through Friday, between the hours of 7:45am to 6:00pm (shifts are staggered)
- Must be able to participate in mandatory pre-camp orientation and training session on Saturday, June 2nd from 9am to 5pm and
Duties & Responsibilities
- Supervise & instruct your assigned group of up to 10 campers (entering 1stthrough 6th Grade; campers are grouped according to incoming grade levels) throughout the week to the various activity stations with pre-assigned camp curriculum
- Provide guidance, energy and camp spirit for campers, constantly assessing group dynamics and the needs of individual campers
- Deliver set curriculum to your team of campers in an engaging and fun atmosphere with Lead Camp Instructor assist you and other fellow counselors with setup of stations, material distribution
- Support camper check-in and check-out processes
- Act as ambassador for our camp to families by communicating with them on a daily basis about their camper’s experience
- Assist with daily setup and cleanup of camp
- Participate and lead assigned group of campers in daily morning assembly and afternoon closing ceremonies, all camp activities and during snack/lunch and extended care (AM and PM)
